Bid successful for NSW Regional Flagship Events program for 2012
We are delighted to say our application under the NSW Regional Flagship Events program for 2012 was successful.
We are to receive $10,000 which will go towards marketing and promoting the 2012 Event outside the Coffs Coast, including internationally. A physical start will be made on the latter at Lake Taupo, N.Z. next month.
With one of the objects of this challenge being to raise money for worthwhile Rotary Charities, Coffs City Rotary has distributed the net proceeds of the inaugural 2010 Event as follows:
- Salvation Army (local) – $2,000
- Northern Kids Care (helping children from homes in Northern NSW where one or both parents have a mental health problem) – $2,000
- ROMAC (providing dignifying surgery for facially disfigured children in the Oceania region) – $3,000
- Rural Fire Service (local) – $1,000
- Men’s Shed (local) – $3,000
- Waratah Centre (local, providing care for the aged including Respite care) – $5,000
- 2CHYFM (local) – $1,000
- Meals of Wheels (local) – $1,000
TOTAL: - $18,000
But for some payments to charities and other non-profit organisations that provided manpower for the 2011 Event we are yet to distribute its net proceeds. That will take place over about the next 8 months.
Your invaluable ongoing participation in this challenge has and will continue to assist in raising these much needed and appreciated charitable funds for which I thank you on behalf of all concerned.
